Anonymous PlayerMemberI frequently forget to create new villagers in my game. Is there a mod available that can help me with this, or any other advice you can provide?

AxelAxelAxel2GuestFor me a mod called something like ‘clear villager creation sound’ helped a lot: it literally screams VILLAGER everytime tone is made and it reminds me to make a new one

PantheristGuestI use scroll-wheel-up to select all TCs and scroll-wheel-down to make vils. Especially at the start of the game, this maxes out the number of vils and frees me up to scout and make houses. I chose this because it doesn’t jump to TC so I can always focus on other things.
(I still use H to jump between TCs though)
It’s trickier in Feudal since this can hold you back from spending food on units and upgrades. But it regains its value in Castle Age if booming on multiple TCs since this reflexive motion means I’m always making vils, no matter how many TCs I have. And I can maintain focus on battles and raiding.
However, depending on your mouse and the quality of its wheel, this can be a bit unreliable. I am used to it now. I find that it’s a useful automatic motion to make sure I always err on the side of more vils, not less.
Another tip would be to pay attention to audio and visual cues.
Visual cue: The global queue on the left hand corner of the screen. It should always show a vil/vils being created, except in Imperial Age when you’re fully boomed.
Audio cue: Make another vil as soon as you hear the ‘vil created’ (shh-haw) sound. For me it’s second nature and I use it as an indicator.

Acrobatic-Natural-32GuestIn the early learning times i used a metronome to remind me, or any other alarm works here so you get an audio signal every 20sec to check your TC it gets a automatism after a while … Be sure you gonna hate it but it works 11

Scoo_ByGuestMake a habit of pressing “select all tc” hotkey and “queue vil” hotkey. Queue up 6-7 vils when you are focusing on army (Hera does this, I am copying, so far good results). I generally press tab which is “go to tc” hotkey, when I have 1 tc in early game. After I get either 3 tc or start doing castle age push I start using “select all tc”.

PG908GuestYou can use shift+hotkey to queue up five to reduce the number of clicks.
