How to Disable Teams in a Lobby?

I attempted to participate in a FFA game today, but all the players on the “?” team refused to switch, resulting in us being assigned to teams.
Is it possible to disable the team option so that it automatically changes to “-” instead?
what exactly do you mean with “automatically”?
“?” is the default, if you want to play ffa, just have everyone select “-” (= no team) and it will work fine
