A good practice in attacking an opponent’s villages and economy before they have a chance to respond is to employ a rush tactic such as a scout rush or an archer rush.
However, it is important to know the right time to do so, as the timing may be different between the Xbox and PC versions of the game.
It is best to research the best strategies and techniques for each version of the game to ensure successful attacks.
February 23, 2023 at 7:36 am #15000XhaerGuest– Don’t lose your units to their TC.
– Defensive stance will make your units puppyguard a 5-tile radius from where you move them.
– Make your Feudal Age military building as soon as you hit Feudal Age.
– Men-at-arms and scouts arrive fast enough to hinder walling, archers do not.
– 4 scouts can fight 1 isolated spear.
– If you open scouts and see a range, add your own range so you can kill spearmen.
– Do not fight +1 armor skirmishers with archers.
If you let the skirms get behind you they can take out your whole army.
It’s much better to walk away and reach Castle Age.
Crossbows research faster than the Elite Skirmisher upgrade, so you have an advantage there, and you can also add cavalry.
– Keep your eco and vils going.
Idle TC is like killing your own vils, and floating wood delays your Castle Age timing.
– Scouting is especially important when going archers.
You should know whether or not they have forward gold/berries, whether they have an exposed woodline, etc., and then the archers should beeline to the enemy’s most vulnerable spot.
– Use a build order specific to your civ when you can.
Britons need fewer vils on sheep, for example, and have to put more vils on gold and wood because their ranges produce units faster.
February 23, 2023 at 7:36 am #15001_genadeGuestYou should always make Villagers continuously.
Six farmers bring in sufficient food to enable you to do this.
All of your other resources you may invest into other things, like making army and attacking your opponent.
Usually, players will immediately build a Stable or Archery Range when arriving in the Feudal Age, then immediately start to continuously make Archers or Scouts, and immediately and continuously send them forward to attack the opponent.
However, if the map is easy to wall (or you already start with strong walls, like in Arena), players will usually opt to not do this and only make army and attack in the later ages.

February 23, 2023 at 7:36 am #15003Exe0nGuestRight now most aggressive feudal age build orders are around 19-21 pop, meaning you go up to feudal age with that number of population including your starting scout.
Most builds are as follows:
6 on sheep
3-4 on wood (3 for scout rush, 4 for archer rush, build a lumber camp)
Start luring boar
Rest on food, build a mill.Do loom before you click up.
After clicking up send 6-7 to wood, build a second camp.
Before being Feudal age you need to have a barracks built, if you are goint archers send 3 from food to gold.
Build a stable or archery range with 2 villagers, don’t forget a house and start training units.
Get double bit axe as soon as possible (wood gathering upgrade) any surplus wood you use to build farms.
If you are on archers you want a blacksmith and fletching as soon as possible.
With scouts avoid doing upgrades as they will greatly delay your castle age time, unless you double down and go full feudal age with 2 or even 3 stables.
February 23, 2023 at 7:36 am #15004JcpkillGuestThe only thing that is considered ‘laming’ is stealing the opponents boars, sheep, or going aggressive with a vil forward to kill the deer, wall berries etc.
Alongside this is killing a unloomed villager in dark age with the scout.
Beyond these everything is fair game.
February 23, 2023 at 7:36 am #15005lulux8108dppGuestNewbie here and I have two related questions. 1.
Is it a good idea to do scout harassing even if I am not a cavalry civ?
Korean/slav/etc.
2.
Is there a good time to buy any upgrades for scout in feudal?
When I gain huge advantage from scout war and want to close the game?
