I apologize for intruding, but I am looking for ways to expand my computer’s memory.

After about 10 minutes, Age of Empires II crashes because of the amount of resources it requires.

I have attempted to modify graphics settings, uninstall and reinstall, adjust virtual RAM, and a few other approaches, but none have been successful.

Does anyone have any advice?

I am using a HP Elitebook 1030 x360 g8 notebook.

I’ve looked up your notebook model and it appears you might be affected by the notorious Intel Iris Xe Graphics driver problem.

So back in June 2022 Intel released a buggy driver update which started affecting several games, including AoE 2 DE.

As you play, it loads graphics and memory never gets freed because of the bug.

In early November they finally fixed the issue, however the driver update that includes the fix is only available if you switch to a different driver branch that is specific for Intel Iris Xe and Arc.

After 4 months, to this day, the all-round “Intel Graphics” driver advertised on their website (and used by default on most systems) is one that was released **one day** before the issue got solved – so manually switching the branch is still required.

Can you post a more zoomed out screenshot?

I can’t actually tell, is it AoE that’s taking up so much memory?
