Future Knight Civilization Bonus Idea

    This is a proposed bonus for a cavalry civilization such as the Vlachs, Serbs, or Jurchens.

    The idea is that the Knight line would deal 25% trample damage to nearby enemies.

    This may seem overpowered, but the catch is that this civilization would not have access to Bloodlines, which is a common trait among other cavalry civilizations.

    The lower HP of the knights would balance out this strong bonus.

    The civilization would still have access to Paladin and Blacksmith upgrades.

    This bonus would be highly effective in certain situations, such as attacking enemy Archers, but not as useful for raiding due to the knights’ vulnerability to arrow fire.

    Rather it be an Imperial UT than a civ bonus, to keep it in line with Logistica and Druzinha.

    Even one Viking Knight with 0 upgrades can clap multiple Skirmishers, Knights in Castle Age with free splash damage would make them incredibly broken assuming they still get +2 armor.

    This would have to be playtested to oblivion and the entire civ balanced around this bonus, assuming the base stats of the kt remains the same.

    But it will be fun to micro and I generally like funky mechanics that make battles interesting.

    As an aside, I don’t know why elephant units lost trample damage generally; elephant play was nerfed so hard because of it.

    I would rather have logistica also affect knights than a new civ with that bonus

    No.

    Knights are overplayed as is.

    They don’t need anything.
