Ignoring whether the map gen is even different at all, I think people say defensive is more boring than aggressive because aggressive play is *not* a one-trick pony.
You can drush, you can go man-at-arms into archers, you can go scouts with archers or skirmishers, you can play spears and archers, you can tower rush.
You can push your opponent or use your army to have map control.
And at the same time, your opponent can also do all these things to you, and you need to continuously adapt to what they’re doing. “Aggressive play” does not equal “feudal all-in”.
Meanwhile in defensive maps, 95+% of games are just walls into FC, and then either flood knights or boom into imp.
Maybe a castle drop or UU in the very defensive maps like Arena.
