old warcraft 3, AoM, Empire Earth 1, Starcraft, Total Annihilation
Men of War Assault Squad 2
KKND2: Krossfire, CoH, Empire Earth, America no peace beyond the line, cossacks.
At their time I really enjoyed all of them but most of them aged badly.
From time to time I go back to Warcraft 3 – just as aoe2 it has a small but pretty active and knit-together community.
It is a lot more micro demanding as units are a lot more valuable and armies are smaller.
But you have only 4 civs which makes the game a bit easier to get into imo.
Empire Earth was the first RTS I played and if it wasn’t for it I wouldn’t ever discover either AoE.
It’s a shame that Empire Earth hasn’t got the same success or support, but I occasionally play it once in a while.
The best thing about it is it covers all ages from Stone age to current one and even the future.
I enjoyed also Fate of Hellas (it can have different names based on the localization), even if I may not suggest it because it has some problems, I like it and it’s part of my childhood memories.
It’s about the graeco-persian wars.
Then there’s Total war, which isn’t the same genre of AoE but I still mention it since others here did the same.
– spellforce 1-3 but dont play the dlcs of spellforce 2.
– Company of Heroes 1 and 2, 3 releases this year
– Warhammer 40k Dawn of War
– Aoe1, Aoe3, AoM
– Command and Conquer 1-3 + Generals , 1 got remastered.
I hope they do the same to 2
– Total War: Warhammer,Shogun 2, Rome2
– Stellaris
Starcraft 1, Brood War
Total war (Rome and shogun for me currently, but there’s lots)
I’m giving Stellaris a go, fun so far but pretty different
Rise of Nations
Warcrafts were all fun, C&C all series were fun (Yuri’s revenge I believe is the best, maybe generals but I’m not sure how to play that currently), Starcraft 2
Spore stage 3 🗿
Total Annihilation.
