The Slavs and the Teutons are two civilizations that share many similarities.
They both heavily rely on melee units and siege weapons, and have bonuses to their farming economies.
However, the Teutons have a much stronger farming bonus that activates much earlier.
The Teutons also have superior military bonuses with their additional armor and conversion resistance, giving them an advantage against other melee-focused civilizations.
While the Slavs may have an advantage in siege weapons, the Teutons are not far behind, with their ironclad and conversion resist making them difficult to counter.
Both civilizations have weak ranged options, but the Teutons have an advantage with their access to Hand Canoneers.
BUT SLAVS have HUSSAR HUSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARR, PLAY SLAVS PLS! (yep they are worse teutons)
Slavs infantry is quite a lot better after you get to druzhina, hussar is also nice to have for raiding.
Slavs also have siege ram.
But otherwise teutons are better.
Eispeacily in head to head, bbc and HC help a lot vs slavs.
i used to enjoy using slav uu before as a Teutonic knight on horse, but the Teutonic paladin fulfills that role pretty well now
Give Slavs SL because
yes.
could be deleted from the game without being missed
No, Slavs get hussars with husbandry.
Teutons get scouts.
Slavs are worse version of Khmer/Poles.
Tuetons are great against melee civs.
And(before this latest patch) melee was only used with cav and the occational pikes.
So they never were given a chance to shine.
Extra melee armor doesnt help when you are shot by arrows.
Especially when you are a slow faction so people will always go xbow against you.
