Do I Stand Alone in Not Liking Hidden Cup?

ngl, Hidden Cup’s twist is great and brings something to the tournament world that no other event has to offer.With hidden identities, the games are actually much more interesting to watch imo.
I keep looking out for so many details and soak in the games in a different way.
And it also makes me wanna watch every single game of the entire tournament, because I wanna be able to form my own opinion on who is who 11
Sure, it could be Double-Elimination in order to compensate its random seeting.Thats a great criticism I have read here tbh.
But Hidden Cup is definitely one of the greatest series this game has.
Hidden cup is one of the biggest most noteworthy tournaments in aoe2 if not the biggest, red bull is up there but that’s not standard aoe2.
The point being that reputation and nerves have a big impact.
You cannot counter someone based on what you know about them as players or how their playstyle is.
Some of the pro’s know each other too much, to an extent where they predict rather than scout.
That’s meaningless in a hidden cup format.
Raw gameplay without mindgames.
You think the “masked players are “too gimmicky”, I just want to watch games on Cup and Pants.
Hidden Cup is a lot of fun for me but I get your points.
My major criticism of it from the beginning has been that it is played on the single elimination format with random bracket.
This means a top player can potentially get knocked out in the early stages.
I want HC back but I’d love it if they could make it double elimination.
I think it’s fun, I didn’t actually follow the bracket cos it’s just too many games, but I had many of the uploaded group stage matches playing on in the background when they were going on.
It’s fun to learn tips and tricks you wouldn’t otherwise know of.
For me its probably my favourite tournament, I dont want all tournament to be like HC.
But we have plenty of other tournaments where players are known.
