Anonymous PlayerMemberI’m not saying HC is bad, I’m just saying it doesn’t work for me.

WhereAreMyDogsGuestI agree with you completely. However we are the minority

ApyciaGuestNo. you are definitly not the only one. I personally do not watch any games. At all. Maybe it’s my age showing, but I just find watching others play boring.
I never watch any rematches, no streamers, no youtubers (besides sometimes SOTL) and no tournaments.
There are dozens of us. DOZENS!

my-new-passwordGuestWhy can’t you root for players even when their identity isn’t known? A true fan of a player would be able to guess or at least have an idea of who their favorite is. I think it’s a brilliant concept

cinnabarcygnetGuestI understand where OP is coming from, but then the problem with that reasoning is that it would just end up being like all other tournaments then. What makes HC such an important part of the AOE2 calendar is the fact that it has something special going for it that the others don’t have and always ends up offering memorable matches and intrigue without the need for the bigger names to be attached. To me, this makes every single game in the tournament worth watching, and not just the games with your favourite players. Don’t get me wrong, there is surely improvements which can be made, but the premise upon which HC is built is special to the community and still has its place

tallphil84GuestHC is a a funny one as I love the different maps that T90 uses and I quite like the hidden ID element for spectating but the drawing of the brakets for HC4 definitly wasn’t great. I think it would be fair for the players to know who they are playing but keep the hidden element for the spectators.

andistrasserGuestI think HC is quite a cool concept however with such a high price pool like last time, the players will just tryhard to win while revealing their usual playstyle. I think there should be some extra money for least guessed players etc., else it’s just another S-tier event with initially hidden identities.

forrito_GuestWhat I like about HC, is watching it all and then watching it again knowing who is who. Trying to understand their decisions and watching epic games because the players don’t “know” each other.
Does anyone else rewatch the games?February 23, 2023 at 3:28 am #14938
LlamaToast404GuestHow come hidden cup is being talked about alot lately? Did t90 announce the next one? Also when

Itzfitz84GuestI’m not the biggest HC fan either, but still damn thankful for the tournament and what it does for the scene. I’m hyped that everyone else is hyped.
For me, I’ve never enjoyed the Hidden Cup map pools that much. But even so, I’ve still seen some bonkers games on them. There were two cup games that especially pop into my mind as being all time great games.

medievalrevivalGuestYou make interesting points, however, it’s definitely my favorite tournament.

da_m_n_aoeGuestWhat’s the occasion from this post? I mean there isn’t anything announced or did I miss something?

fivecanalGuestCasting of pro aoe2 is generally filled with gimmicky stuff because a lot of the time nothing of importance is happening. And the hidden format may make the casting not very interesting.
