I’m having difficulty understanding how to choose a civilization other than random when establishing a skirmish game.

There doesn’t appear to be any way to select a civilization or team.

I can select the AI tabs, then profile and player banner, but if I try to go back to the civilization selection it takes me back to the invite and options menu and then to the start game menu.

I can access the game settings and map information, however, I would prefer not to have random civilizations continually.

There’s a bug that locks you out of civ select in single player skirmish.

Try restarting your game.

If that doesn’t work, host a multiplayer game, set to private, and add ai bots.

Can’t pause in those games tho.

Did you end up finding a solution in the skirmish mode or did you have to host your own game?

I am experiencing this same issue and it’s annoying.
