What steps can we take to ensure success for the Celts?
I would open men at arms or a drush.
Follow up with archers.
Go for a early castle xbow timing.
After that I would turtle and boom.
Halb/SO/UU and Rams should work.
Magyar will probably start knights in castle then boom into CA/hussar.
This can be a be a pain unless you get Woad Warrior raids.
Stone wall and you’ll need to win late imp imo.
Lategame halb siege ram should do it.
Any map where you can wall up well the celts are just favored.
I’d probably favor a men at arms open on most open maps.
Your men at arms are faster.
The free attack upgrade for the magyar is a little scary, but the magyar eco and archery range are generic.
Celts are better than Magyars till castle age due to better eco and siege.
Pike +monk and siege can break Magyar whose defence is lacking.
Celts going SO Halbs is basically gg for Magyar CA + Magyar Huszars.
Obviously Magyar Scouts have an early bonus with the free attack tech in the blacksmith, so going MAA or Archers + Spears should work ig.
Celts definitely will win imperial age because magyars have no bombards and can halb siege their way to victory and use faster firing castles for defense vs hussars.
The problem (as usual for celts) is castle age, magyars can get out fully upgraded knights almost instantly upon reaching castle age while celts don’t have bloodlines or thumb ring.
The solution is to hoang the magyars, magyars don’t have any bonuses that will help defend vs a hoang push but they will have cheaper scouts for raiding, but celts have speedy spears so they’re not as effective as usual.
