Hello!
Hera, a devoted Viper fan, was deeply affected by the criticism he received after a recent tournament loss.
Kind words of encouragement could really help him out.
As a Viper fan, I can’t imagine the scene without Hera.
His style has made them so entertaining to watch, and the finals were spectacular.
In Age of Empires, we get to see these two titans face off often, and it’s an incredible sight.
Similarly, Starcraft 2 has Maru and Serral, but they rarely go head to head.
Seeing Hera and Viper play is a real treat.
My motto in ranked has been “Never resign when you have hussar”, and it’s been so much fun to play with that in 1v1s and team games.
To top it off, Viper commented at the end that Hera is playing a lot like him – with extreme macro and great late game.
There’s no higher compliment than that.
Oh, and I almost forgot the craziest thing about Hera – a friend of mine has been subscribing to him with Twitch Prime and asking him weird, nonsensical questions about events in our life.
And he always responds in the funniest and most on-the-nose way possible.

February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13471tech_autoGuestHera just won a big tourney in Germany, don’t understand why people hate he is a top level player
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13472DormageGuestWith popularity, the community grows and so does the amount of salty kids.
AoE2 is still one of the most mature communities out there still, lets keep it this way and don’t let them ruin it for us.
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13473Andrew-Smith137GuestI don’t understand why it matters who wins tbh as long as the games are good.
Unless there’s some secret sports betting scene for aoe2 or something i don’t know why people hate
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13474brambedkar59GuestAoe2 pro players are so nice (especially the top 10), like every single one of them whom I have ever watched on YT/twitch/fb.
Dunno what’s wrong with people.
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13475kevflo91GuestOne thing that has always been a positive about the aoe2 community is how non-toxic most of it is, especially compared to other gaming communities.
I think the rest of us should take a stand against these toxic-type players by publicly showing our disapproval of that type of behavior.
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13476SephyriasGuest>I cant imagine the scene without Hera
Well I can imagine it, it would mean there is one less major competitor and a noticeably smaller amount of AoE2 youtube content, which would suck.
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13477dovahsidGuestHera provided the pro level guide to AOE2 which helped me alot to improve.
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13478after_dark_nightcallGuestHera, if any chance you’re reading comments here, just know that we love you.
You’re a great teacher and an absolute legend of not just AoE, but the whole RTS genre.
It can be hard to deal with trolls or toxic people, but please don’t pay attention to those people.
They are not worth that.
There are way more people who love you and appreciate you.
If you ever feel like there is a lot of toxicity against you, please remember us, majority of your fans, who love you and want all the best for you.
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13479LadiesAndMentlegenGuestI actually would like to see more impartiality from the casters.
It felt like Dave and T90 were really rooting for the Viper through the last series of games, and I mean I was too, but I remember thinking wow if I was Hera rewatching this I’d feel a bit annoyed, especially since casters can sort of create or enforce narratives about players in the community which then shows up in twitch chats.
With that being said, thank you Hera for making those games competitive and fun to watch.
You absolutely dominated that first game and had Viper on the ropes in many others.
We really appreciate you and what you bring to the AoE scene
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13480Rare_Ad9767GuestThere’s no shame in losing against the best.
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13470thisisntnamGuestHera is great– I prefer AM to GL generally just because in my mind GL (or Secret, Tyrant, etc) are like the Yankees of AOE, with Viper being Babe Ruth/Jeter, so I rooted for AM as underdogs, and now tend to root for them as individuals….
even though I love Daut, Jordan, Tatoh, and the Viper as content creators and player personalities.
Twitch/the internet writ large is pretty terrible, but hopefully Hera doesn’t get burnt out like a few years ago– it’s a tough loss, but there are plenty more tournaments to look forward to!
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13482Malfun_EddieGuestI really like his youtube content and he is on my top 5 players to watch.
My top 5 to watch is not the top 5 players but, entertaining and/or top lever performance.
February 18, 2023 at 1:55 am #13483ar1smGuestHera and Viper are my favorite players to watch, albeit for different reasons.
While Hera can certainly be aggressive when he wants to be and is brilliant at it, what I love most about his play is his defence.
It’s really impressive to me how he keeps a cool head even under intense pressure and just expands his eco while buying time in the pressured location and then countering when he’s ready with the correct army comp.
Some call it too standard or meta, but for me there’s beauty in simplicity and perfect execution.
On the other hand, Viper is enjoyable because he’s a little more relaxed on the ladder, trying some memey strats and also because he’s the most well rounded out of all the players.
There’s no part of the game he is not great at and that makes him almost unstoppable imo.
He may not be the best in some aspects (for example Liereyy may micro a little better), but I think he has the best all-around execution and his game sense boarders on unnatural lol.
Regarding the issue at hand, I feel for Hera, it sucks to get hate of any kind, but sadly it comes with fame..
Viper himself was called “washed up” when he started losing some tournaments (simply not getting 1st place mind you, not that he did poorly).
However this thread alone is proof that for every hater, there’s way more supportive people even if they not direct fans.
So Hera, if you happen to read this, I think acknowledging the haters only gives them power because you are letting them see that they get to you.
Just play your best, focus on the positives of your life and the support you are getting and you’ll be fine 🙂
