I am grateful for the bonus that comes with playing as the Sicilians.

In a game where we both randomly ended up playing as Sicilian and Hun on the Baltic map, my opponent’s galley micro skills were exceptional, making it impossible for me to catch up.

Knowing that I would lose the water, I decided against utilizing the farm bonus.

Instead, I loaded my troops onto a transport ship and made a sneak attack by building a castle near his Town Center.

Although I had initially prepared for a larger group, I settled for just one or two workers so my opponent wouldn’t discover the transport ship.

This covert tactic proved successful as it forced him into repairing his Town Center, which he accomplished well but kept him in the Feudal age for an extended period.

To win this dramatic game, I had to build five castles, and I never had more than ten villagers working on the farm.

Sicilian transport ships are quite underrated.

I actually miss the “ram of the sea” transport bonus they used to have, it had surprising potential to swing a galley fight when patrolling across the front.

With that said, the current set of bonus are decent and do help play into the Sicilian landing thread better.
