I’m having difficulty understanding Player vs Player (PvP) strategies.
I’m comfortable playing against the Hard Mode AI, but PvP is a different story.
What are some suggested civilizations and building orders that people recommend for PvP?
raid them 12-13 minutes in
How tf are you fine against hard mode AI.
I keep getting my ass beat.
Any tips?
Hey, this isn’t what you asked explicitly, but the game gives you an initial 1000 ELO rating, which by design is the population average.
It’s kind of annoying, but just starting out (at least in pvp) you’re probably going to lose a bunch until you find your actual rating, at that point you’ll get fun, even matches.
Most of us had to go through this phase, just do your best and know your winrate is going to be abysmal for a while.
Best thing you can do is scout… try to have your scout in between your base and your opponent once you have your resources… next depending in what kind of a rush is coming in adapt accordingly if you think you can hold them with walls and a vil repairing go for it if you think you need tower put one down if you think you need to match them put down buildings and probably wall because you will need time to build military so in short wall
Realistically you can’t avoid it unless you play maps like Arena or Black forest.
Thats the best way to play the game.
To fight early.
I try to be fully walled by then, or close to.
If you’re playing a Civ like goths, plan for the raid, wall or small wall early, if you’re playing a cav civ, make a spear or two and same.
Learn a rush yourself so they’re reacting to you.
Remember, you can fight militia with vils if you have loom and a number advantage.
u r gonna get raided 15 minutes in, actually u r going to get raided before that, the way to win, is to either have military and walls to defend from their attack so that u can build up an offense, or to raid them before they raid you (secound one is easier)
15 minutes?
My brother, the latest drush hits around minute 9.
What black fortress nothing maps are you playing?
You only get attacked 15 mins in?
In my games I get military out minute 7 already.
How many games have you played?
The first ten tend to be a bit of a wild card – after that your elo should settle down to you winning about half of games.
I always find scouting means I get surprised less often, and can have counters ready.
You don’t even need to see the units, what is their civ, how many vills do they have chopping wood in early feudal and what buildings they have can all help you see what is coming and prepare
Thanks everyone for the helpful and insightful tips
1) Learn how to rush yourself.
Not only you will the first to attack, but also you will better understand what to expect from your opponent by looking at what resources he is taking and which buildings he has.
Start with the 19-20 population scout rush, it is the easiest build order to master.
2) Always scout your opponent.
You cannot defend against something you don’t know about.
