    The image above displays an extraordinary example of AI, as the deer is seemingly unafraid of the scout’s presence.

    At 7:01, the scout moves away from the deer, yet the deer remains in place for 49 seconds, until 7:51 when a villager starts shooting at it.

    This behavior is highly unusual, as one would expect the deer to run away after the scout’s departure.

    How this behavior was achieved is a mystery.

    I’ve seen something like this happen before, I get the impression (and some other users far more knowledgable than me about these things can CMIIW) that it has something to do with the house.

    Like if the deer sees the house it is in a constant state of panic and doesn’t want to go back.

    I’ve done this before by accident, and I realised that it seems to not go back in situations like this.

    How far did the scout push the deer?

    If its pushed within its certain “spawn” distance it doesn’t reset and run back.
