This way, water engagements would be more dynamic and varied, with different strategies and counters.

The only thing I want as far as water changes goes is let galleon line stack and micro how the galleys do in dark age

The Rome at War mod makes naval combat interesting not by buffing the units, but by giving us more reasons to fight on water.

    1.

Being able to build walls and sea towers actually lets you control and take territory without physically occupying it with your navy.

    2.

    The more diverse economy (i.e.

not all ships cost only wood and gold) makes it easier to incorporate water battle into land battle.

You can see this in effect on land with “one unit civs”, usually archer civs, who are boring to play because they can only do one thing well.

Britons and Mayans comes to mind, Burmese/Bulgarians/Spanish.

    3.

The mod team said they’re planning on making more ocean resources, such as deposits of gold and stone, which gives further incentive to actually fight on the water.

Nothing too crazy, but I think it would be good to have a separate peace dock and war dock – shipyard as you called it.

I’m really tired of accidentally making a dozen trade cogs.

Let’s be real if they can’t get the current rock paper scissors dynamic to work appropriately (which as of now requires demo ships to be cheaper as evidenced by the fireship spam in feudal) they’re not going to be able to balance a more complicated dynamic.

honestly I’d prefer to be able to build water structures with fishing ships.

    Sea towers, the water walls/gates
