damn bro my condolences, that really sucks
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19825BongosBongosCongosGuestHave you tried using an alt account.
Make another steam family account and try that?
Tbf even the worst murderer on earth has the right to know what they are being convicted for.
Anything else is Devs being a-holes and covering their own asses.
More than likely this is an error and because they don’t need to show you, it can be any small error and their ass is covered
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19824DizzyCustomer5778GuestSome of y’all were super chill, doing you’re due diligence, checking out replays and realizing that this ban was a mistake.
Sucks that some people see perma ban and just assume guilt.
The OP here is my friend that I play with and he has finally been unbanned!
Assuming after someone actually reviewed it.
I think the traction this post got helped a lot and I appreciate anyone that tried to move it up the ladder.
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19823thisiscottyGuestDoes aoe2 have an appeal process at all?
iv never been banned my self, but surely you can appeal
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19822fml20timesGuestI don’t know how this works, but is it possible for someone to have falsely reported you?
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19821Unholy_LilithGuestIt’s really annoying they don’t provide further info.
If they would try something like that in B2B business the lawyers would start writing asap.
I mean, just give out the info, it’s a paying customer.
In many countries the law für consumer protection is even more friendly then for B2B…
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19820Top_Nectarine_3070GuestMan that sucks I’m up to like 8 hour bans.
I really hope I don’t get perm banned.
That’s dumb
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19819FavorableTrashpandaGuestIt strikes me as odd that one would get a permaban for a few disconnects.
A lot of people disconnect all the time due to the map pool system.
We would be hearing more about it if permabanning was more widespread?
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19818Got-FreedomGuestCan you ask them again to review exactly why they banned you?
I understand you are just guessing jt is for the dc.
Ask them to clarify it and if they have any chat logs that might have caused the ban.
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19817Hairy_Alternative819GuestI dont think this has anything to do with leaving early, this should only result in timely bans.
If you dont get an answer from support, i would try to with posting this to their social media channel, this would probably help you get an answer.
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19816XhaerGuestAoE2 allows you to report people you’ve never even played with.
I’ve heard of “reporting Discords” where people will mass report anyone a member doesn’t like for laughs.
Don’t know how many reports it takes, but if you piss off a social media troll or LAN center kid, you get to experience modern game moderation.
The reason customer support can’t tell you why you were banned is because they don’t know.
You were banned by the automated system.
Your customer service rep, who will either be nameless or give you a male name appropriated from the Western world, is part of an office that collectively speaks just enough English to send out form letters.
Presume they have no authority to overrule the automated system and that your money is gone.
Companies will continue to get away with this because the amount of money at stake per incident is trifling and their ability to create contracts that circumvent consumer protections has been honed over decades.
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19815TWestAoeGuestThanks for posting about this.
I’ve been hearing rumors about other people facing this same issue.
I’ll try to contact some people and see if I can get it escalated.
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19814Wonderful-Field7278GuestI tried to appeal the ban, wrote a detailed message, and they hit me with the same e-mail:
*Hello,*
*Thank you for reaching out and providing your Steam ID.I’ve checked the account and it shows that there was a permanentmultiplayer ban placed on the account on February 22nd.
This was due to Code of Conduct violations.*
*Please note we are unable to provide further information into the ban in question.
Please be sure to review the Code of Conduct for any further questions.*
*Age of Empires Support*
You won’t even look into my request for an appeal?
It says in the Code of Conduct that every ban is reviewed by a human.
Due to my experience, I do not believe that for one second.
I also reached out to a Discord mod and she said she would help me gain some clarity.
I haven’t heard anything back on that front.
This is the kind of response you give to someone that is a blatant hacker or cheater that you have evidence of and its not even worth your time to argue with.
If you think I’m hacking, check my stats.
Others have on this thread and support my play style as legit.
Steam: tjsoko15.
I’m an average player at best, my win rate is less than 50%.
I bought the game 3 weeks ago for crying out loud.
I would be fired and lose my broker’s license if I was caught saying anything discriminatory, I wouldn’t risk that on a video game just because someone beat me.
I am going to just file a report with the Better Business Bureau and call it a day.
This is a bullshit way to treat a paying customer.
It is a shame too because I really enjoy this game and all my friends are playing.
March 12, 2023 at 10:58 pm #19813PotionThrower420GuestIf this is for disconnecting then half the Xbox population bout to get banned 11
