    Like another poster said, make fishing ships more expensive.

    As it is, water is OP.

    There is no reason not to go water.

    You basically get an extra 1-2 TCs in feudal age for every civ.

    If you add complexity, add things, add features–it just gives more incentive to go water.

    I think harbors should be constructable in feudal age.

    Maybe 100 stone that allows you to build a dock that shoots arrows and that You can garrison ships inside.

    I actually don’t think you need a rock paper scissors of water units.

    I love the demo ships and two galleys.

    It’s not as balanced as land but it doesn’t need to be.

    Harbors will at least let you contest water if you are losing it.

    If fire galleys moved a teensy bit slower we might see the water meta be cooler if classic galley micro fights come back into the meta.

    I would add a Kraken, which appears from the depths at random intervals and sinks a randomly chosen ship.

    Replace the War Galley with a ship more similar to the Feudal Age Galley that still can be microed (like Aoe1 does it).

    Garrisonable fishing ships in docks, weak water palisade walls built by fishing ships (now all-purpose ships), water towers, etc.

    Basically anything that makes water less snowbally.

    My idea hits two birds with one stone:
    Scorpions and Heavy Scorpions should have a huge anti-ship bonus.

    Now we have an land based unit that can counter ships.

    And scorpion’s have a use in the game.
