Hey pals, I just wanted to share that I’m really enjoying the NAC4 tournament this year.

The live streams have got me hooked, and I gotta give a shoutout to all the competitors for their great performances.

Now, onto the topic at hand.

I’m currently exploring the Cumans civilization and their various builds.

I’m interested in practicing the three most common builds for this civ.

Can you guys recommend some essential build orders I should focus on?

Please drop your suggestions in the comments.

    Thanks a bunch! 🤩

The 2TC opening is a thing for Cumans, but it can also be punished on Open maps, so I’d recommend to be careful with it.

If your eco is tight or you’re behind your oppo you’d better make the most of the other Cuman bonus on Open maps (cheaper Archery Range/Stables).

You advance to Feudal Age with 16 on Food and 3 on Wood (After clicking transfer 2 on food to wood) and when you hit Feudal you immediately drop a TC on a woodline with 6 of your vills on food.

Get eco upgrades (Horse Collar/Double bit axe) and get Farms asap to afford 2 TC vill production.

When that is achieved, you send like 8 vills to gold and then you have many possibilities:

    – Next vills to stone for Kipchaks (you need Barracks, Stable and Blacksmith OR Market & Blacksmith if you already have the res to advance but not enough wood for the three buildings).

When you click you transfer a couple more vills to stone and you build your castle on a hill on a defensive position.

Kipchaks need Fletching/Bodkin and Bloodlines to get going

    – Build Stable + Blacksmith and advance to Castle Age while building 2 more stables and getting bloodlines + cavalry armor for Knight or Steppe Lancer spam

    – You can also surprise with Archery Range + Blacksmith and start creating Archers for Xbow powerspike.

With the food surplus you’ll afford Xbow upgrades and then you can build a forward Siege Workshop (never forget that Cumans get Capped Ram in Castle Age and you may need Mangonels against enemy Skirmishers) and even a Stable for Knight/Camel support

Cuman 2 TC is only effective if

    – You keep both of them non-stop working

    – You get no damage, so wall well if on an open map.

If you’ve got a very exposed map, go for Scouts (discounted Stables) + walls + 2nd TC

I don’t think Cumans are as versatile as one expects them to be.

But if you want a different approach check out ACCMs game in ongoing NaC’s day 1 vs Hera.

Standard 2 tc boom but you are doing this while keeping your opponent busy with a tower rush.

Ive seen another one where the 2nd tc would be a douche, more like for open maps.

You would probably also want to deny the opponent’s stone or gold while doing this.

    1. 19 pop 2 TC boom
    2. 20 pop scouts into archers
    3. 20 pop scouts into second TC
