I am not embarrassed to say that I defeated the Extreme Artificial Intelligence in a one-versus-one match by enclosing them using walls during the Dark Age.
They deserve it.
I set the pop limit to 25 and then played as the Goths

That sounds like the extreme ai.
When siege elephants were introduced to the game I did sort of the same thing, crippling the AI so that I can just maw down his base with nothing but siege eles.
I love walling ai in nomad.
It’s like finger training.
Lol.
I did it by picking islands, 25 max pop, casual speed and with a fleet of cannon galleons in surround.

I remember some time ago, to get the steam achievement, played the extreme ai in team islands, he was huns I think, or some other civ with awful navy, and I was vikings 11
