If an imp appears and the civilization already has either two-handed swordsman or champion, the time and resources required to advance to that stage will be reduced.
One of the main complaints I saw about infantry is how long and how many resources are needed for the transition.
The idea is instead of two tech in imp your civ has one or the other and that’s it.

So long as Sicilians don’t get champions
Just allow people to queue the next tech before the prerequisite tech has finished.
Yeah I think champion should be the only imp upgrade.
That would be a positive change
