Issue With Using Mouse and Keyboard on Xbox for Age of Empires II

I’m having trouble using my mouse and keyboard.
The keyboard is working, but the mouse is causing me trouble.
When I left click to select a building or to move a unit, it works, but if I left click to select a villager’s building option, nothing happens or it builds a house behind the menu.
I’ve tried all the settings I can think of and switched to two-button mode, but nothing is helping.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
