Is there a Counter for Xbow and Pike Units?

Scorpions combined with something in front (skirms/scouts/couple of knights constantly moving), but the real counter is using your mobility. While your opponent attempts a slow push up the middle, you can spread your army across his resources and kill vills. They will have a very hard time addressing raids, as any time they want to clear your army, they need to walk across the whole map, which means your eco will get a break (great time to queue vills and rebalance eco). Once you see his army approach, simply back off and hit somewhere else. It’s a bit more micro intensive, but mobility really is the counter here. A couple of mangonels on defense can quickly put an end to his main army, especially if you hit him with a raid to distract just before bringing your mangonels out toward his main army.
Skirmishers have bonus damage against archer-line AND against spear-line.
