Xbox Gamers, Disable Cross-Play Functionality

I don’t mean to be disrespectful to PC players, but keyboard and mouse users have an advantage over those using controllers.
With the game now available on Xbox, there will be many new players who have never played Age of Empires before, and it would be better for them to play against other new players instead of experienced veterans.
To ensure the best gaming experience, go to the options menu and turn off crossplay, so that players on both console and PC can play together.

I’m not sure they need to, to be honest.
Their skill level will just be accounted for in the elo system.
elo system will adjust.
Just make sure you have a separte profile for controller and pc.
Why?
They you will find more fair matches with it on after you lose a lot of games and get to your correct elo.
More players to play with = more fair matches.

PSA: ranked matches will give you the most fair matches.
do better research
even “ultra Noob only” lobbies will get you rekt by a troll/smurf.
there is literally no way of assuring a fair match except through ranked play, yes it takes some loses, but let it do its job

For cross-play to work both players must have it enabled.
If you don’t want to be matched with Xbox players then just turn off cross-play on your end.
