What is the typical number of people playing a game – two or four?

Right now there are almost double the amount of players on AoE2 DE than on AoE4, but you shouldn’t be surprised since AoE2 has loyal cult that stood with it for over two decades. Doesn’t mean that AoE4 is bad. I mean, I wouldn’t know, too modern for my PC and I don’t really like how it looks.

Yesterday it was 11k for 4, 21k for 2. Checked it randomly

All the numbers are for Steam, so they might not give you the whole picture. I think AoE 4 is included in Game Pass, which might attract quite a few players because you don’t pay extra (I don’t have Game Pass, but that’s what I heard)
