They have inexpensive Paladins, allowing them to gain an advantage in the early game against Halbs.

Decent Skirmishers and Crossbows with Bracers can be added if the Paladins aren’t sufficient.

There is no real need to supplement their army with gunpowder units.

    >Decent skirms and crossbows with bracer

missing arbs, missing last armour upgrade, missing thumb ring.

    >cheap paladin so they can trade early on well against halbs

missing bloodlines, so they do not trade against halbs AT ALL.

    >there is no real weakness for them

    what are you smoking?

It’s because of history and also so they have a strong ranged option to kill halbs, nobody wants to use burgundian crossbows.

Similar thing for franks, they have hand cannons to support their paladins

Are their crossbows really that good?

No thumb ring, no last armor upgrade and no arb.

In terms of military options, Burgundians aren’t that versatile, are they?

Removing then would make it a tunnel vision into paladins civ imo

Because the real life Burgundians made extensive use of gunpowder.

Probably because they have average xbows and no arbs.

    The gunpowder is completely justified.

The real question is why a french duchy is a civ at all?

    What’s next?

    County of Nassau?
