Kinda a slow player.
Build up army and defenses prior to attacking.
I pretty much love the movie kingdom of heaven.
Rarely use archers because i want hand to hand combat.
November 18, 2023 at 8:13 am #48289kandradeeceGuestByzantines are generally a decent starter civ.

Teutons:
* They represent German-speaking communities who contributed a lot to crusades to the Holy Land as well as Northern Germany and the Baltic Sea coast.
* They focus on cavalry, infantry, monks, and siege. It’s all slow moving, but not incredibly slow.
* You usually don’t need the archery range, although every civ sometimes needs hand cannoneers or skirmishers. And they have those.
* They have a great starter bonus in cheaper farms.A good and timely feudal age farm transition is a remarkably difficult thing to realize for newer players, and the Teuton bonus helps you get through it.

November 18, 2023 at 8:13 am #48292Boston__SpartanGuestThe new DLC was built for you.
November 18, 2023 at 8:13 am #48293Audrey_spinoGuestTeutons and Byzantines were pretty much made for you.
Also Franks.
November 18, 2023 at 8:13 am #48294devmagiiGuestPeople recommending Teutons & Byzantines…
Plot twist: OP is not from those men, he is Salahuddin.
Salahuddin. (movie reference)
Jokes aside, if you are saying you like the civs in Kingdom of Heaven, it’s clear you like Cavalry (Saracen cavalry in that movie was amazingly portrayed) and Infantry (Frankish/ Byzantine infantry was shown in detail).
As were transport ships, one is to one champion combat.
You will also notice strongholds like walls, castles, that keep villagers safe.
Franks quite obviously are an easy civ to begin.
Amazing cavalry, good eco boosts, cheap castles.
I think you have your answer there.
November 18, 2023 at 8:13 am #48295CamiloArturoGuestPersians would be a good option since their buffs are almost straight forward.
Or go for the Saracen’s if you liked Kingdom of Heaven hehehe.
You can get hand to hand camels (Mamelukes) there!
November 18, 2023 at 8:13 am #48296ysfsdGuestBy slow player, do you mean low APM?
If so, all in aggression strategies might work for you.
I am a low APM player myself.
Cannot manage army and eco at the same time.
If I am looking at my army at the enemy base, I will forget about my eco, or vice versa.
All in strats work because you hit a specific number of vils, then forget about eco and attack with all you have.
So you only need to focus on army after going up.
I recommend fast castle into siege knight push in closed maps.
Best works with Khmer, Celts, or any civ that can do fast uptime with knight and siege.
In open maps I pick Cumans and go all in Feudal army with rams. 3 range archers and rams kills them in feudal age.
You don’t need to make mill or collect berries or deer. 20 pop up, then all vils go to wood and gold, Make sure to leave 100 food for fletching though.

November 18, 2023 at 8:13 am #48298junkbox-123GuestSlavs, Poles.
Once you build the farm number full spam hussar.
November 18, 2023 at 8:13 am #48299Privateer_Lev_ArrisGuestYep Teutons or Byzantines fit the bill.
Solid defensive civs with lots of melee and siege options.
November 18, 2023 at 8:13 am #48300DullAlbatrossGuestI played 150-200 games of Byzantines before I started trying others.
I don’t know if it really matters so long as you figure out the basics with one before branching out.
