MemberI’m an experienced player with a rating of 1300+ ELO.
I’m confident that I have the potential to reach 1500, but my biggest issue is inconsistency.
There are days where I play really well and make smart decisions, but then there are days where I make mistakes, have too much idle time, and mess up my builds.
I think this comes from a lack of concentration while playing.
I watch pro players like Daut and Viper, and they seem to play at a much slower pace, always talking and thinking.
But when I start playing, the game moves so quickly that I miss important details and lose focus.
How can I fix this?
How does it feel to you guys?

GuestViper is able to interact with chat in dull moments but will not be able to do so when the game gets heated.
It’s a skill that they developed by doing it a lot.
Consistency comes with experience.
Just keep playing and it will improve because more things will become “muscle memory”.
Pro’s also get tired after a while and lose their concentration.
It’s normal.
Well, for anyone but MBL at least.
After a 6h long slugfest against Hera, he instantly queued for another game.

GuestMaybe have some post it notes next to your computer with your build orders and what to do in certain situations if you do already know how to play and just forget sometimes

GuestFluctuating 100-200 ELO is completely normal.
It took me half a year to get from 1400 to 1500.
You need to work on your mistakes to improve further.
Idle time, walling, right decisions, macro, etc.
Look at your recs on what you do worse than others in your peergroup and improve on what first.

GuestMy issue is usually that after a few games I ‘expect’ dark age to go well.
Like when I play to much DotA and forget levels 1 through 9 exist and I tower dive.
Switch it up, watch some pro games casted on YouTube, then get back into the game.

GuestKnowing that too well and being in the same spot.
I manage to get wins VS 1400/1450 players and then again I lose vs 1250ish players.
My elo is hovering between 1250 and 1350 since more than a year now.
Sometimes I got near 1200, sometimes I got near 1400, but my games feel quite inkonsistent as well.
For me its a plus most time playing random civ: that leads to some so felt “civ losses” as well to some good civs in a row.
After some bad matches sometimes I pick civ.
Even worse, when I won’t win that game I feel even worse for myself for picking and not even winning.
Then again comes times when I get Franks, mayans or some other great civs in a row by random, win these games and then intentionally pick bad civs to even that out.
Guess that’s a bit crazy 😅😂
(but always leave random open if opponent would pick random too, which unfortunately don’t happen too oft around 1300 elo) -
