I am curious to know what people think about the idea of having the autoscout feature available for all scout-line-units instead of just the ones at the start of the game.
You could have ten or more active auto-scouts this way.
At this point Auto-Scouting would be superior to (good) manual scouting.
i’ve voted yay at first, but i understand some comments here, that it’s not that good.
but what if always one scout could autoscout?
so if you task one to autoscout, every other scouts autoscout button vanishes?
I like the fact that the first scout is unique.
It’s actually one reason while I try to keep it alive and if it goes down to very low hp, I retreat it from active fighting and just use it to auto-scout.
Nah, for the first one it’s fine but applying it to multiple units means your initial scout is less valuable.
Saving it to put on autoscout later in the game should be a trade off compared to throwing it away for a vill kill.
Just wait for Rise of Nations DE and then we can have this feature.
Other games like Empire Earth, AoE3 and AoE4 have the ability to have multiple units autoscout.
So it should be safe in AoE2 as well.
If so then other units should have this as well I think.
This would give an advantage for scout players
Maybe as a bonus for one Civ?

What about making it a CA thing for all scouts?
Auto scout is bad like 99% of the time.
I just want auto-scout for my sheep
Umm if u toggle agresive mode and auto scout 60 winged hussars in agresive map like nomad it gonna shred enemy economy if u dont explored map yet
Sounds really OP later on in the game go be honest.
Also scouts opening is the most dominant opening in aoe2 atm.
No need to buff it more.
