Is anyone enjoying the newer format Hera and Viper are using for YouTube videos?

I personally am not.I find it very jarring and often find myself wonder what happened between the jumps and how did we get there.
I can understand the appeal of only the highlights but it just doesn’t seem to work for me so I will probably stop watching games on their channels.
I’m hoping this doesn’t become the main thing for all streamers.
So what are your feelings on the matter?
Edit.
Found the video that made me post this https://youtu.be/kazEJrcwkcY?si=ZOp8Fg-09TlZKG4U.
Shortened viper match
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46892DukeFLIKKERKIKKERGuestI think its fine, hera has an entire gameplay channel woth full gqmes in case you want a focus on that.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46902kirxanGuestDespite your feelings about it, this video is tied for his most viewed upload in the past week.
For Viper, this is his career – a content creator.
He is merely doing what gets maximum value for him while entertaining his fans.
I personally don’t care for Rage Forest content, but they are more popular than the 1v1s he uploads intermittently.
Leave a comment on his video so he has some feedback about the video format, but I am sure him and his editor have looked at analytics and are trying to maximise engagement and ad revenue.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46901flagamuffinGuestyeah it’s horrible.
i just want to catch pieces of their streams on a format less shitty than fb/twitch, and what i get instead is “content”
fortunately hera at least uploads gameplay videos elsewhere.
viper i have never seen actually do this, so maybe you made it up
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46900doritobutterflyGuestWait are you serious?
I haven’t been watching their stuff but this actually might bring me back
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46899CombinebobntGuestBye bye dark age 5 minutes of nothing
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46898Ok_Scale4462GuestYou understand that this isn’t Viper’s primary form of content?
Sometimes he finds sequences of events funny or particularly noteworthy that he cuts (via editors most likely) his videos down to feature the thing he found funny. 99% of his content is still full length videos.
He’s been doing little featurettes like this, occasionally, for a long time.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46897pfated64GuestI haven’t watched either channel in some time.
Are these highlight vids shorts?
I think YouTube has been pushing their ‘shorts’ content since the government screws started to tighten on Tik Tok.
Content creators are just adjusting to what YouTube will front page the most.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46896llv77GuestI hate it, I stopped watching for that reason.
I hope this doesn’t spread further.
Hera has been doing it for a while now, I guess people like it.
Imagine if they broadcasted football like this.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46895Low-Squirrel2439GuestAs an AoM player, I always think I’m in the wrong sub when I see the name Hera.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46894Akkal-AOEIIGuestI don’t watch a lot of aoe2 content on youtube anymore, but this video format is appealing to me tbh.
There’s lots of «down time» in full games, so I don’t mind a cut here and there.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46893jaimejaime19GuestYes, it is pretty jarring to see jumps in the video especially for gameplay, but sometimes viewers don’t care about what happens in the dark age, or during age ups etc.
Although, I would definitely prefer having both videos to look at, the shortened one and the full game.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46891adquenGuestI’m actually a fan, because I have the attention span of a squirrel and the patience of a three year old that was promised ice cream HOURS ago.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46890hfchangGuestI much prefer them.
I don’t always have the time or patience to watch full games but clipped games for me are great.
Every now and then when I’m in the mood I’ll watch Hera’s gameplay channel for the full matches.
September 24, 2023 at 3:03 am #46889TobotimusGuestI know Hera has been doing cuts during any gameplay videos that make it to the main channel, but Viper’s videos never have cuts during gameplay.
So I’m not sure what you’re talking about?
