Is Anyone Else Experiencing Lag and Crashes?

Hey everyone,
I installed Age of Empires 2 onto my laptop and it worked really well for a couple of weeks. However, in early January, the game started to lag after five minutes of playing, and then it would crash soon after. I know this is a common problem experienced by many, but I haven’t been able to fix it myself. I’ve tried various things such as disabling mods (of which there were only two, and they were already auto-installed), uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and closing down all other background apps before playing. Unfortunately, none of these solutions have worked for me.
Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this issue? Or is my brief return to Age of Empires destined to be nothing more than two glorious weeks?
I’ve attached my CPU specs which seem to be sufficient enough to run the game.
Right now the game is having some stability crashes, therefore a lot of people are experiencing these crashes. The lag isn’t normal, do you have a stable connection? Are Windows and graphic card driver up to date?
