I spent the entire afternoon playing the game without any problems, but when I tried to play it five times later in the evening, it kept crashing as soon as it began. I even removed all the mods I subscribed to, restarted my computer, and did other troubleshooting steps but the problem still persists.

Yep, if you look at posts from the last few weeks you’ll see plenty of other poor souls suffering from the same issues. Unfortunately it’s due to the Xbox release. Devs haven’t been able to solve the problems yet, but hopefully they will be fixed in next week’s patch!

I had my computer completely freeze about 10 minutes into the game twice yesterday. never had any issues before that. Does that happen to anyone else?

Yes, ever since the XBox release that coincided with PC “up”date. Then they tried to fix it in another update that destroyed framerates, they rolled back to the broken update and so we wait. Come back in two weeks, we might see a working fix by then.
