During multiplayer games with friends or versus other players or AIs, there should be an option to acknowledge and commend someone for their exceptional performance. This feature could be easily integrated once the system for adding players is modified.

Yes and we gain honor levels which give us honor capsules to get emotes and ward skins! All those “improvements” copied on modern competitive games will just make aoe2 be more like these games : extremely toxic
It exists. Here’s how it works:
Step 1. Add the player as a friend.
Step 2. Send them a message honouring their good game.
Imagine the AI being the most honored player, cuz the AI is never salty in the chat… 👀
