How to Exit the Courtyard in “The One Eyed Man is King”

I am currently playing the Xbox version of the game, but unfortunately, I am experiencing some difficulties. I attempted to rebuild the tower and send the monk in, but nothing seems to be working. It seems like only players on the PC have been successful in completing this task.
Just tested it on the PC, it seems to work for me. I’d done it before on hard, but I managed to forget the monk was actually Ivaylo, and got thought it was broken when he kept dying. In terms of how to do it, after you repair the tower and garrison the monk, you need to put the villager right in front of the tower, or wait until the enemies are right outside. Then you ungarrison the monk, and he will be forced to spawn out the other side.
