Sounds like he could have handled that interaction much better.
Retorting in that way sounds immature.
Here’s an example of how a true GOAT handles situations like that.
January 27, 2023 at 10:24 pm #5319estDivisionChampsGuestHera cracks me up.
He tries hard to be a kind level headed person but I think his default is more toxic than that.
This reaction is a perfect example.
He wants to stick up for his student and knows talking shit about elo is an asshole move.
But his reaction was to be an asshole.
Kudos to Hera for trying to better himself.
It’s admirable and what I like most about him.
January 27, 2023 at 10:24 pm #5318KGR_HedgehogGuestI think that Hera quote should be implemented into the game as a taunt everytime someone writes “noob team” instead of “gg” after his team has lost a 4v4 rated.
January 27, 2023 at 10:24 pm #5317jsbaxter_GuestLol, the polarity of takes in this thread is hilarious.
January 27, 2023 at 10:24 pm #5316leading_suspectGuestThere’s no reason to throw around your elo like you’re better than other people because of it like some people do.
Unless you’re top 100, but even then you’re just being a jerk.
This reminds me of the famous SR-71 [groundspeed check story](https://www.thesr71blackbird.com/Aircraft/Stories/sr-71-blackbird-speed-check-story).
This is a glorious read, but in short: a new crew (2 man team) was flying 80,000 feet above Arizona headed west to California.
They have 4 radios monitoring various chatter and pick up Los Angeles Center. “We listened as the shaky voice of a lone Cessna pilot asked Center for a readout of his ground speed.
Center replied: “November Charlie 175, I’m showing you at ninety knots on the ground.”
“Just moments after the Cessna’s inquiry, a Twin Beech piped up on frequency, in a rather superior tone, asking for his ground speed. “I have you at one hundred and twenty-five knots of ground speed.” Boy, I thought, the Beechcraft really must think he is dazzling his Cessna brethren.
Then out of the blue, a navy F-18 pilot out of NAS Lemoore came up on frequency.
You knew right away it was a Navy jock because he sounded very cool on the radios. “Center, Dusty 52 ground speed check”.
Before Center could reply, I’m thinking to myself, hey, Dusty 52 has a ground speed indicator in that million-dollar cockpit, so why is he asking Center for a readout?
Then I got it, ol’ Dusty here is making sure that every bug smasher from Mount Whitney to the Mojave knows what true speed is.
He’s the fastest dude in the valley today, and he just wants everyone to know how much fun he is having in his new Hornet.
And the reply, always with that same, calm, voice, with more distinct alliteration than emotion: “Dusty 52, Center, we have you at 620 on the ground.”
“Somewhere, 13 miles above Arizona, there was a pilot screaming inside his space helmet.
Then, I heard it.
The click of the mic button from the back seat.
That was the very moment that I knew Walter and I had become a crew.
Very professionally, and with no emotion, Walter spoke: “Los Angeles Center, Aspen 20, can you give us a ground speed check?” There was no hesitation, and the replay came as if was an everyday request. “Aspen 20, I show you at one thousand eight hundred and forty-two knots, across the ground.”

Every time I read that story it makes me smile.
There’s always a bigger fish.
This chat member was being rude and disrespectful to a player with a lower elo, and Hera wanted to remind them of this fact.
Could he have done so in a more calm manner?
Sure.
Am I faulting the guy for it?
Nah.
It could be a combination of age and personality.
His heart was in the right place though.
January 27, 2023 at 10:24 pm #5315CaptainCordGuestIt’s so meta…Hera trashes a 1450 Elo for trashing an 1100 elo lol
