It’s supposed to be.
You might still want to backup your mod-status.json file if you haven’t launched the game recently though.
They say there may still be a 1-time issue if you haven’t launched in the past few days and lost your mods yet.
If this happens you should be able to close the game, paste back your back copy, and launch again.

yes, but i have lost so many mods…
No, mods still won’t stay saved.
Is this why exploding kings won’t work?
