Handling Occasional Game Crashes in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition

The process is as follows: Ranked matchmaking, ready to play, the game crashes, and then the player receives a penalty.
Although it only happens once a day, the penalties are cumulative, with increasing durations of 2, 5, 8, and 30 minutes.
The poster is asking if anyone else has experienced this problem and knows how long it takes for the penalty duration to reset.
The issue may prevent the poster from playing a few matches before work.

I made a couple new accounts to combat this bug.

Happens to me too.
No idea on the reset time.
Try restarting your game after each match.
That seems to lower crashes a lot.
The best way around the bans at the moment is simply playing lobby games.
Unfortunately, the lobby browser is also bugged, so it’s a bit of a pain.
I’m part of a lower ELO discord server where we arrange unranked games frequently, so feel free to DM me if you’re interested and we’ll add you to the server so that you can still get some good games in while we wait for a fix!

PLEASE REMOVE QUEUE DODGING PENALTY make it such that penalty only applies after game starts, going away while in queue is not wrong.
Haha yes, this game is still a burning pile of trash when it comes to bugs and unit behaviour.
I have the same disconnect issue.
Or it queues me for the map i banned.
Or it messes up the civ picks and randomly shuffles the civs in my team.
Villager behaviour is a fucking joke, 4 vils on a pile of gold being too stupid to mine it without getting vils stuck in between themselves.
Auto-sheep AI is the biggest garbage ever created.
And every second game is arena anway…

Good you can ban one map in a like 10 maps map pool in multiplayer!

What’s annoying is when you’ve been crashing and then get into a few games, so you join 2v2 or 3v3 with some friends and they start crashing.
