Does Anyone Know Why Monks Carrying Relics Have a Range of Five?

In the picture, there is a person wearing a t-shirt with the words “I Love Books” printed on it.
The individual appears to be very passionate about reading, as evidenced by the shirt.
Before the nerf Monks could throw the relics and crush units.
The attack had a range of 5.
It’s most likely the line of sight being displayed as range.

If I remember right, Monks with relics were to be used as buff for your army.
Taking them into the battle.
Could be the range where the buff takes effect.
For the record this particular monk did not have any monk upgrades.
