Did Age of Empires Include Voice Chat?

My spouse and I have been sporadically playing together and out of the blue today we could communicate through the game.
We usually communicate through Discord so it was somewhat bothersome.
Is there any way to turn it off?
I looked through the settings to see if I could find a solution.
I have this same issue, it’s absolutely awful.
Can’t disable voice chat in-game.

You can disable the game’s ability to access your microphone in windows.
Don’t know how to mute others tho
Join an Xbox party chat by yourself.
Yeah, I was just on a 1v1 ranked game where I could hear him clicking and a bunch of background noise.
SUPER distracting.
Couldn’t turn it off.
Asked him if he could and he did eventually.
Lost bad cuz spent his whole dark age googling and looking through settings lol.
They need to patch this fast.
Serious privacy/security issue on top of ruining gameplay with distraction.
IDK if he was on xbox or not.

Creating a game – nobody see in lobby, need to create 50-60 times so everyone can see it.
They add voice chat and now I HEAR A LOUD FRICKING MICROPHONE VOICES AND CANT DISABLE IT WTF???
Why microsoft is doing this, why they spend money for adding some sh*t and now i have to suffer because of this sh*t?
And its not only the xbox store or AOE2.
Its everything, winodws updates, skype, every fricking software from microsoft is just horrible and getting worse with updates.
EVERY.
FRICKING.
SOFTWARE.
Yeah I hear enemy also in ranked games, unplayable..
