Goths and Bulgarians are really good. Bulgarians because free M@A upgrade and cheaper blacksmith upgrades, and goths for the discount and the speed at which they shred buildings.

I had a really good game the other day where I did this as dravidians. I went up super quick, and built the barracks on the way up. Their bonus means that supplies and the men at arms upgrade are both super cheap. With a faster uptime you can get away with getting these upgrades before actually adding the army. Also the extra wood means you can drop lots of farms very quickly so the eco isn’t bad behind it.

I admit I added a few skirms as things went later but men at arms were doing really well, you could maybe alter it a little. I’m 1650 and this was on Arabia
