MemberI’ve been trying to find a way to start spamming MAA as soon as I advance to the Feudal Age. Specifically, with infantry-based civilizations like the Japanese, Celts, or Malians. I’ve found my best attempts have been with the Bulgarians since they offer free MAA, making them my preferred civilization for this type of build order. It’s important to note that this is an all-in strategy, meaning that I will continuously produce MAA until someone is defeated.
I’m aiming for a build order that allows me to start spamming MAA with only 22, 21, or even 20 population. I’ve watched ZeroEmpires’ video on the endless Bulgarian MAA strategy, but I’ve struggled to consistently replicate it. He was my inspiration for pursuing this strategy.
If anyone knows of a more generic MAA spam build order, I would greatly appreciate feedback. Long live the infantry!

GuestI think you need 6-7 farms and 2 on gold for each barracks you have. Adapt from here.

GuestIt would be slightly easier for you if you try Dravidians, 200 extra wood and half cost techs will help you even more with the build order you are using for Bulgarians. No free MAA but easier transition to farms will help a lot.

GuestI recommend you goths, militia are cheaper, and barracks works faster and in feudal age +1 attack versus buildings, my advice is 20 pop (push 2 deer if you can for to delay the farms as soon as possible

GuestI’m not worried about whether the strategy works or not: everybody knows infantry is below archers and knights. I’m specifically wanting a build order to simply spam 1/2 barracks MAA non-stop, no vill production. I’m here to lose ELO and have fun after all
After doing some testing, it looks like Celt Ploppy strat (commented by smilingstalin, video by pooplord) seems promising. If there’s a similar build order for Japanese (or generic civ?), please comment.

GuestIs that with or without villager production?
Without is easy; like 15 vils would manage constant production from at least 2 barracks.
With and you’ll likely just end up with 10 MAA walking to your opponents base as they hit castle age!

GuestI don’t think Bulgarians is the way to go, as their bonus fiddles out quickly.
I’d pick Japanese or Goth: Japanese just deal mad damage and get off to a good start. Goth have basically supplies free (but better) and faster barracks help keeping them coming.

GuestI don’t know, but if you have a working example that you cannot execute, can’t you adapt it minimally? For example if that video you mention does a 14 vill feudal maybe you can do it with 15 or 16?
I can compute the number of farmers, lumberjacks and gold miners needed to sustain each barracks in the midgame, once you have horse collar, supplies, double bit axe, the barracks and the blacksmith upgrades.
One MAA needs 21s to train and (with supplies) consumes 45 food plus 20 gold.
A gold miner collects 0.38 gold / second –> 7.98 gold per MAA created –> you need 2.5 gold miners per barracks (3 for 1, 5 for 2, 8 for 3).
A farmer collects 0.32 food/s –> 6.72 food per MAA –> 6.7 farms per barracks. 7 for 1 barrackss, 14 for 2 and 20 for 3.
On the other hand, each farm with horse collar yields 250 food for 60 wood. A lumberjack collects 0.39 wood/s which increases to 0.47 with double bit axe (I think that’s how the 20% faster rate works, but these things are sometimes not intuitive at all). Each horse collar farm needs 60 wood every 781s. So with just 1-2 lumberjacks you can easily maintain the farm production. Of course you need a lot of wood in the meantime, but once everything is set up you can remove everyone from wood.
So the minimal number of villagers in order to maintain 1/2/3 barracks is roughly 11/20/30. If you want to produce while getting the upgrades you will need a bit more, unfortunately. Civ bonuses will improve these numbers. Goths having faster barracks would in theory mean more resources per time = more villagers, but you also have cheaper militia line so I’m not sure if it improves or not.

GuestMaybe check out some of the MAA spam strats posted by Pooplord on YouTube. I think the Ploppy strat is one version with Celts and I’ve also seen the Dravidian endless MAAs work great.

GuestBurgundians are decent for it, especially when you can get those eco upgrades rolling to spam even more

GuestMAA is ridiculously food heavy, so theoretically Slavs should be a good option as well. The problem is MAA are absolutely hard countered by xbows and don’t get much of a power-spike even if you happen to make it castle age. Imo in most cases you don’t win with MAA, your opponent just happens to make enough mistakes that they lose, unlike conventional xbow / knight play.

Guestknights will absolutely destroy all the m@a. so will xbows.

GuestHere’s a video all about the strat you want.
I got up to 1200 Elo using something very similar with Goths. Glhf
