I am considering purchasing a Mac and would like to play a certain game on it. However, I am uncertain if it will be compatible with my device. Is there anyone who plays this game on an M1 Mac and can provide insight into their experience playing it?
I played on an intel Macbook until I bought desktop. I ran it through boot camp and with no issues. It ran a little hot while playing but not to the extent it was damaging any of the systems. I would be surprised if the experience with the newer chips were not at least as good.
Though not my own experience, I have heard people say good things about running it on an M1/M2 Max with crossover which is a software with a subscription cost but nice to use if you can afford it.
Runs with [Crossover – Paid](https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/age-of-empires-ii-definitive-edition) or [PortingKit – Free](https://www.portingkit.com/game/1545).
I haven’t played on an M1/M2 Mac recently, so I cannot provide any recent data, but I’m sure there are Mac gaming communities where someone will be able to provide you with the latest information about the game’s playability.
I do. Works like a charm. Just use app called porting kit to instal steam version. The installation process is pretty straightforward, just follow the guide in the app.
